The Ambassador of Libya in Italy visited the Operation Irini’s Headquarters
Rome – The Ambassador of Libya in Italy, Dr. Omar Abdelsalam al Tarhouni, visited the Operation Irini’s headquarters hosted in the Italian Joint Operation Headquarters in Centocelle (Rome). Welcomed by the Irini’s Operation Commander, Rear Admiral Fabio Agostini, and his staff, the Ambassador Tarhuni received an update on the Operation and its results. “It is a pleasure to have you here as a tangible sign of a renewed Libya political establishment approach to the EU and to Operation Irini”, said Operation Commander Fabio Agostini. The Ambassador Tarhuni stated that the new Government of National Unity in Libya is deeply engaged in seeking stabilization and peace for the country and to this aim an enhanced cooperation with the EU is possible. Than, he thanked Admiral Agostini for the warm welcome and hospitality.
