EUMS Director of Operations, Brigadier Gen. Laurent, visited Operation IRINI Headquarters
Brigadier General Bart Laurent (BEL Army), European Union Military Staff (EUMS) Director of Operations, visited
today Operation IRINI Headquarters and was updated by the Operation Commander, Rear Admiral Stefano Turchetto,
on the state of play of the Operation and the results achieved.
The two Flag Officers shared their views on emerging Security Challenges in the Mediterranean, the future of the Operation
and the EUNAVFORMED, and, in general, on the EU Common Security and Defense Policy Missions and Operations.
Thanks to Brigadier General Laurent for his tireless support to Operation IRINI, always shown in the last years, personally and through
the EU Situation Room, operating under his wise oversight, the responsive point of contact with Operation IRINI Headquarters Joint Operation Center.
