IRINI attends the 6th Meeting of the Project for the “Support to Integrated Border and Migration Management in Libya”
Rome, 17th October 2024. This morning the EUNAVFOR Med IRINI OPCDR Rear Admiral Valentino RINALDI and a delegation of the operation staff attended, as observers, the 6th Meeting of the EU Project “Support to Integrated Border and Migration Management in Libya (SIBMMIL)” organized by Ministry of the Interior – Central Directorate for Immigration and Border Police.
SIBMMIL project aims to improve the capacity of Libyan authorities in border control and migration management, addressing smuggling and trafficking of human beings, search and rescue at sea and in the desert.
Operation IRINI, in the context of the EU’s integrated approach, closely follows initiatives to improve regional stability and security cooperation through exchange of experience and sharing common strategies.
