TRAINING ON GENDER PERSPECTIVE FOR IRINI OPERATION
Sigonella, Sicily 9th Nov. The Gender Advisor of the IRINI Operation headquarters on the occasion of Poland’s national Independence Day, which is celebrated on 11 November, visited the forward operating base (FOB) of Sigonella to meet with Polish compatriots of the flight component deployed at the base with a maritime patrol aircraft in direct support of IRINI Operation.
The event was a useful opportunity to hold a conference on gender perspectives in according with IRINI Gender Action Plan and more generally with EU Gender equality strategy.
OHQ Gender Advisor mentioned the Gender Action Plan as a part of the lectures, standards of behavior as well as topics related to sexual violence to reinforce the capacity of all personnel to advance gender equality and strengthen mission management.
Gender equality and Human rights are at the core of European values and constitute stand-alone priorities mainstreamed across all European Union policies.
