ITS MOROSINI, the flagship of EUNAVFOR MED Operation IRINI, in the Area of Operations

ITS MOROSINI, the flagship of EUNAVFOR MED Operation IRINI, conducted a side-by-side refueling with the French ship Jacques Chevallier, which is participating in the CLEMENCEAU25 exercise.These challenging and complex activities are crucial for consolidating procedural protocols and demonstrate that the naval forces of EUNAVFOR MED IRINI are fully prepared. Readiness is essential for successfully intercepting and inspecting merchant vessels suspected of illicit arms trafficking to Libya, which is a key task of the European Union’s Operation IRINI.
As part of this operation, the Force Commander, Rear Admiral Alessandro DI BIASI, along with a delegation from ITS MOROSINI, had the opportunity to board the French ship Jacques Chevallier. This meeting allowed Rear Admiral DI BIASI to interact directly with some of the crew members and the Commander of the French ship, Captain de Vaisseaux Christophe GAUME. It provided an excellent opportunity to appreciate the efficiency and daily life aboard the ship, while also conveying greetings and good wishes from the Operation Commander, Rear Admiral Valentino RINALDI.
