The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Italy visited Operation IRINI OHQ
The German Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Hans-Dieter LUCAS, visited EUNAVFOR MED Operation IRINI Headquarters in Rome.
Ambassador LUCAS and the Operation Commander shared their views on the situation in Libya and discussed the upcoming challenges
and opportunities for the European Union in the MEDCEN area.
The Special Guest was briefed on the state of play of the Operation and visited the Joint Operation Centre (JOC), the ‘beating heart’ of the Headquarters.
The Ambassador, at the end, met the National Contingent of 12 deployed at the OHQ showing them His appreciation for their work and professionalism.
Germany supports the Operation with Naval Units, Aircrafts and Personnel and it is among the main contributors of IRINI.
